Bali 2014

Jamie and I travelled to Bali for a 4-day 3-night girly getaway last Thursday!
:D
Planned on doing quite a lot of things (sea sports, water theme park, shop & nom) but in the end we were just too burnt out from, well, life in general, that we spent quite a bit of time just slacking hahahaha.
But we managed to do quite a fair share of shopping, sea sports and a wee little bit of sun tanning!

We were really really blessed to have awesome weather because the weather forecast (which I had checked every day the week prior) showed that there were gonna be lots of thunderstorms throughout our trip!
Even Aunt Kim who had gone to Bali just a week before us had complained that it rained every single day she was there.
But not a single drop of rain fell on our heads! :D
To the extent that it started raining only after we got into the cab after sea sports, stopped right when we finished our spa session, and started right when we reached the airport when heading back to Singapore.
Really thank God for giving us such wonderful weather!

We stayed at Rama Garden Hotel!
The service is really good, albeit a liiiiittle too friendly.  (As in, touchy.  /: )
The rooms were really pretty, comfy and clean and really exceeded our expectations because we got the most basic room which cost S$100 per night.
Just look at the photos and you'll understand!

Our comfy beds!
The sheets were sliiightly dirty and kinda smelly though.
I think that's more or less the only major problem with the room?
Oh and the aircon was leaking /:
But it was sufficiently cold so I didn't really care hahaha.

The toilet!

Bath tub! :D

Seating area which Jamie crashed on every night before bathing hahahaha chocho!
Also, our colourful luggage! :D

Our little private sitting area outside our room!

Stone steps up to our room (:
So glad we had such a private room!

The really deep pool!
(Okay, I consider it deep because I can't swim hahahaha)
And they provide tube floats for noobs like me heh heh.

Purdy Jamie!

After settling in, we headed out for lunch (which was also our first meal in Bali and we were starrrrving)
We ate local food at this restaurant called Dulang!
Food was really tasty, though not supremely cheap.

My mojito which was really cheap hahaha like S$7?

Bakmie Goreng Jawa and Soto Ayam!

Love the lighting in this photo! :D

Then we walked to Kuta beach!

The nice skies and not-so-nice sand.
Never really been a fan of Kuta beach actually...  Don't really understand why people like hanging out there so much!
I just go there for the temporary tattoos hahahaha.

This was right after I got my first temporary tattoo on my wrist!
If you squint you can see the heart hahahahaha.

Horsey!

This is some random quaint hotel Jamie found where she bought some much-needed ice cream to battle the terribly scorching sun.

Changed into this super cute pair of shorts I had just bought because the rainbow romper I was wearing on top was getting too warm hahahaha.
I think it cost S$6!
Kinda looks like diapers actually...  But who cares, I love quirky clothes! :D

One of the many shopping alleys along Kuta Square.

More shopping wahahaha.

Then we went for our first massage session at Carla's spa which was really near our hotel (where I was too tired to take photos hahaha), and then we finally settled down for dinner at this restaurant called Our's.
The drinks (Long Island and Tequila Sunrise) were reaaally lousy and weak though :(

Jamie's seafood carbonara!

My grilled snapper with garlic butter!
Was pretty alright, though I think the fish wasn't fresh enough.

Hungry and tired girl 1.

Hungry and tired girl 2.

After this we headed back to the hotel and crashed because we had really really little sleep the night before the flight.
We were too excited + we started packing really late.  Heh.
And then we overslept the next morning lololol so we ended up cancelling on our plans to head to Waterbom Water Theme Park (which I would highly recommend, although it's a little pricey! - US$31 for adults for the whole day!)

Super super meh breakfast not worth being in my tummy lol.

Hello Kitson!!! :D :D :D

Chilling on the patio~

Funny girl covering her legs hahahaha.

OOTDs!

Then we walked out to Legian Market (which is suuuuper near our hotel, like a 5 minute walk?) to do some more shopping!

I managed to buy waaaay much more things here than I did at Kuta square the day before.
Plus you can really haggle most items like tops/dresses/rompers down to S$5 per piece?
Jamie even got a tie dye tshirt for her mom for like S$3.
Hahahaha.

After that, we headed back to the room to dump our things, and out we were again to have an early dinner and watch the sunset at Jimbaran beach!

We ate at this restaurant called Kampoeng seafood and OMG DON'T EAT THERE the food wasn't fresh at all and it was really overpriced. :(
A friend told me today that we could have haggled, + we shouldn't have gone to the restaurant our cab dropped us at because the cabbies get commission for dropping passengers at their crappy non-popular restaurants :(
Sigh!

Super yummy corn by the beach which cost S$1 each! :D

Funny corn man hahahaha.

K I don't know what he's looking at either hahaha.

The sand was pretty dirty ):  But the water was really beautiful!

Coconuts!
Jamie said hers tasted sour :(

Hehe floral headbands which I had bought from Bangkok! :D

Our food!
(Missing a plate of subpar calamari)
Sigh, actually it was really disappointing.  Everything wasn't fresh and not suuuuper tasty.
Pretty sure I could have cooked better ):
But nevermind at least we had a really good view of the sunset!

Smelly table in front of us who wouldn't stop smoking. D:

The beaaautiful sunset!
If you follow me on Instagram @mupples you would have seen even more beautiful sunset photos I took on my phone!

Being serenaded by musicians while we ate :D
Tipped them S$4!

Balinese dancer!

More Balinese dancers!

Then we headed back pretty early to rest!
Breakfast the next day! (:
Jamie and I were both wearing the same tops we had purchased the day before, in different colours.
And you can't see from this photo but we were wearing our pyjama pants hahahaha we were just too lazy to dress up properly.

Can't go wrong with sunny side ups!

Then we took a cab down to Nusa Dua for some sea sports!
We walked down the entire beach negotiating and finding a good price for the activities we wanted to do.
In the end we got the rate of IDR700,000 for banana boat, fly fish, donut, and transport back to our hotel!
It was pretty worth it! (:
It amounts to about S$10 per person per activity?  Not bad right!

My new bikini I had just bought from Phuket a month earlier hahahaha.
Also, my pink waterproof bag which is also from Phuket! :D

We were initially quite worried that it was gonna rain because the skies looked a little dark, but Praise the Lord man because the clouds immediately moved away when we started doing the activities.
Then it started raining once we got into the transport back to our hotel!
Amazing right!

But, we were quite sian that we didn't buy a waterproof camera for this trip ):
So we don't have any photos of us actually doing the sea sports ):
Sigh!

Back to our lovely hotel again (:

Rainbow sarong!

Then we washed up and headed to TJ's for some Mexican food!
I allllways go to TJ's whenever I got to Bali!
:D
Their food's really good and not too pricey for Mexican food!
Plus the ambience is really nice and warm and colourful!

Lime juice and strawberry milkshakeeee

Jamie had chicken fajitas while I had beef enchiladas!

More shopping after noms.
This little girl's so cute right!! :D
She's the daughter of the shop owner!

Back to the hotel for drinkssss.
We had initially planned on checking out the nightlife/clubbing scene, but we got too lazy hahahaha so we just had chill drinks at our hotel bar!
S$3 for one big bottle of Bintang, not bad!
I had like, 3.  Hahaha beer belly~

Oh and I got a Hello Kitty temporary tattoo for IDR100k hahaha.

Their super awesome and fresh sotong!
Was sooo much better than Jimbaran's -_-

Next morning we decided to finally utilise the hotel's pool facilities!

My temporary heart wrist tatt!
Also, my chipped holiday nails.

Bikini babez wahahaha.

We met this Australian family there and the father asked his pretty daughter to take a photo with us!
Jamie didn't like this photo though so I had to crop her out hahahah.

Sausage or legs?  Hahahaha

Back to Dulang for our last meal!

Lemongrass tea! (:

Bakmie Goreng Jawa again because it's soooo good.

I forgot what Jamie's nomz was called but I think it's some wanton mee-like thing!

She even managed to grab some shoes despite the lack of time!

Check out time ):

Our waiter from the night before!
His name's pronounced as how an Australian would pronounce "Good Day" hahaha
So it's like...  Guh-dye?  Hahahaha

At the airport!!!
I'm so glad they upgraded the airport.  It's so much cleaner and proper now!

I love wearing maxis while traveling.
It's like wearing a blanket!  Hahaha.

Yes we're damn vain hahaha.

Our plane!
We flew Tigerair!

Bye bye Bali!!!
Til we meet again!
❤❤❤
