Back from Hongkong!!!!

I remember feeling extremely grumpy because the weather was insane, but thinking about HK's weather when I went to Ocean Park really makes Singapore's weather much more tolerable.
The sun is maaaad in HK!!

Yup, went to the zoo because apparently all couples do that at some point of their lives hahahaha I guess we just really have nothing else to do in Singapore.
Oh actually we asked Little Kev to come along but he said he didn't want to.
Later on I found out from my mom that he whispered to her "I don't want to disturb them!"

Just got back from Bali yesterday and I've to quickly wash everything and repack for Hongkong tomorrow!!
So exciting travelling without my parents!

Photos are all with Nick and photobucket's pretty much useless at night so this'll be a photo-less post.

Bali was wonderful!
Did plenty of activities!!
White water rafting, banana boating, big mable-ing, jetskiing!!
Went to the Waterbom theme park, did lotssss of shopping, had a really good sea salt scrub massage, ate real good food, watched beautiful sunsets, showered under the stars, stumbled upon gay bars, watched Australians tumble off club stages, tried bartending, cooked...
Everything for S$500!!!
Excluding accomodation and air tickets though.

Can't wait for our next Homies trip :D

Gotta go, lots of packing to do!!!
Plus I gotta redo my nails ahhhhhh busy busy (but happy).

Been super busy with the job, which I still haven't gotten used to and probably never will get used to, considering how messed up some things are and probably always will be.

Went to Cafe Del Moar with some of my favourite Sogirls a week ago!!

We were supposed to tan but the sun was really barely there so we barely got a shade darker.
Well, except for Mich who didn't even want to get tanned in the first place.
Pretty funny because she was hiding under an umbrella most of the time after putting on layers and layers of sunblock hahahaha.
Ah well.

Was really great to have a break after such a long time.
Literally just threw my phone away for most of it.
But then again you can never run away from work.
When I finally got back to it I had about 20 texts and 6 missed calls.
Sigh.

Most traditional CNY reunion dinner

The Chiams are so genius that we suddenly realised that regular Chinese reunion dinners with all the rushing in and out of crowded and noisy cheena restaurants aren't exactly very enjoyable, so we had ours at a completely random Jap restaurant called:

Dozo!
It's a Valley Point, at one of those parts of Singapore I never knew existed hahahaha.
But the restaurant's pretty cute and cozy, and the food was quite awesome!

So glad there wasn't yusheng this year, especially since no one ever actually eats it + there's a grand total of 1 Chiam who can actually speak Chinese.
So while we're supposed to throw the stuff in the air and chant all those phrases, all we do is go "Whooooooaaaaaaaa..."

I just made Christmas cupcakes and CNY Mocho-choco-almond crescent cookies because I love baking hehehe.
Made gingerbread cookies too but was waaaay too busy then to take photos but aiya nvm!

The cupcakes were the first time I was using royal icing heh heh that's why my Christmas trees kinda look like amoebas.

But I heard they tasted quite nice okay!!

Countdown was pretty simple this year!
Nick and I planned on going tenting but our schedules were waaay too tight to get a tent so we settled for a ground sheet and a blanket hahahaha but it was still fine!

We weren't even planning on seeing the fireworks lol.
I personally think it's overrated leh...
Like it's totally not worth pushing through the crowd before, during and after.
Hmmm...

But yup we had a nice quiet night counting down!
K la not very quiet because there was this huge group of Bangladeshi workers counting down next to us hahahaha they were damn cute and excited k!
Like 10 minutes before midnight they already started screaming and whistling hahaha.
Sooo funny to watch hahahaha.
But they drove another couple away, oh well.

Just got back from grocery shopping and ooomg I am SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW.

Went to shop for a handful of baking stuff because I'm baking cookies for the Homies for Christmas, when this mad auntie started following me around.

She came up to me and said (everything in Chinese)
"Little girl, are you buying a lot of things today??"
I just said no, because I really wasn't.
Then she said
"Do you collect stamps?"

I was at Shop and Save, and you know they have this retarded sticker collection thing where you collect the stickers onto this card to get I don't know, some discount?

Ya she wanted those stickers.

Then she said "Nevermind nevermind, how about we combine groceries??"
I just ignored her.
Then she went to grab like, one can of longans and some pack of sauce?? and dumped them into MY grocery basket.
WTF.

Plus today I was gonna be taking quite awhile because I had to find some damn random stuff like Soft Brown Sugar and Golden Syrup, so gosh was it a bad day.

So she proceeded to following me EVERYWHERE I went, refusing to let me and her chances of getting a sticker out of her sight.
She was like 1m away from wherever I stood okay!!
Would you like some phantom shadowing you wherever you went?!

So when I finally got my stuff, which seemed like eternity with the mad woman coming around ever so often to comment about how expensive everything is, I went to the check outs.

I saw the shortest queue, so obviously I went there to queue.
And you know what that woman said???
"Eeeyer, don't go that queue. Malay one, not good."

WTF. SERIOUSLY. WTF.
WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!

I ignored her, because I wasn't gonna waste my (precious) voice or think of a reply in Chinese just for her, so I just went there.

Then she pulled, PULLED, my basket to another queue which just happened to shorten.
Seriously?

Then when I was paying, I put her stuff infront so she won't I don't know, make me pay?
Then she said
"Aiya don't put mine first! Scan yours first la! Then if can get sticker don't need my groceries!"
I thought the whole point of this thing was to combine groceries?!
(Which I didn't even agree to hello.)

But anyway the (haha Chinese) cashier already scanned it in so she had to pay $3.40.
Then when I paid finish, the cashier handed me some free detergent thing for what I spent.
Then that woman said
"This one... Detergent leh. Wash clothes one. You got use meh???"

I just said I would give it to my mother.
Only then did she bugger off.

And the worst part is that when I was paying, my dad called to ask don't know la some unimportant question, so I said I'll call him back, and hung up.
Then when I called him back, he (as always) wasn't actually listening to what I was saying, so I had to freaking repeat everything I said twice.
(Really, eeeeveryfreakingthing)
And my throat is already hurting like shit la so I hung up again.

When I got home, my dad started going on and on and on and on and on (irritating right, just reading that) about how he doesn't understand why I couldn't talk to him during the first call, and that I have no reason to be worked up, and all that shit la.
You tell me how to talk to these kind of people???
Who only want you to hear what they have to say but don't even give a shit about what you have to say?

Don't know why I even bother talking to him.
Was so much easier grunting when I was voiceless.

OH YA.
Even when I was voiceless and had to whisper all the time (which hurt and actually tears vocal cords), he STILL didn't listen to anything I say.

K oddly, life's been a little interesting lately.
Odd because I've barely left the house hahaha.

Well the first one that's off the top of my head is that our kitchen sink tap just burst.
Like it was leaking, and Mom went to touch it then it just exploded.
So we had a reallllly strong fountain for a little while until Dad managed to fumble through his keys to get to the main pipe tap.
Loool.

So then dad went to Musfata (because there's really nothing else open at this hour) to buy a tap!
But when he got home he realised another part was spoilt so he had to go back hahaha so I followed him because I'm sick of math.

He's fixing it now!
Hope it works because I need to brush teeth!!!

(On a side note, Mustafa is SO fascinating!!
They really have EVERYTHING there k!!
Wanna go back there someday soon hahahahaha)

One day when Joyce was over studying, we heard this DAAAAAMN LOUD 'BAAAAM!' sound.
Thought some television fell out of a window and landed on a car parked downstairs or something HAHA.
But it wasn't.

Apparently some gong was reversing his car into the lot, probably forgot his foot was on the accelerator instead of the break, and reverse all the way back and knocked down this metal temporary wall which was forged to keep people out of the soon-to-be lift site.
So half the car was practically under the block hahahahaha.

And because of the rubble the car got jammed there!
Joyce and I couldn't stop laughing because it really seemed so... Illogical!
Like, who would reverse til THAT much!

Went to this Spanish Restaurant at Bukit Timah with Snail some time ago!

The place is damn nice & cozy, and the staff are really friendly!
Only problem is that it's damn far away la, and I got lost on the way there and missed my stop zzzzz.

Didn't do too badly for Block Tests 2 I suppose, although I really could have done better (:
